CALDERA POINT |

An excellent left located 3km south of Boca Barranca. The break is off the jetty/river mouth near the port. Best on a big swell. |
| TIVIVES BEACH AND VALOR |

Feature a variety of waves from the beach break at Tivives to the rocky point at Valor. There are quality rights and lefts at these beaches located 10km south of Boca Barranca. |
ESCONDIDA BEACH |
|
Located about 5 minutes from the Los Suenos Resort and Marina near Jaco. It’s a horseshoe reef break with a good left and right. One of the most popular spots for the locals when there’s a good swell. |

JACO BEACH |

One of Costa Rica’s most popular surf towns located just 2 hours from San Jose. There are a variety of good restaurants, surf shops and nightlife. |

Jaco Beach itself is a fun beach break, but tends to close out on larger swells. Jaco is home to some of Costa Rica’s best surfers and its central location and wide range of amenities make it a great place to base your surf adventure. The waves are great for those learning to surf, lessons are available.. |
ROCA LOCA |

Located at the southern tip of Jaco Beach, just down the cliff from the coastal highway. This tricky wave breaks right over submerged, shallow rocks and is best during large swells. |
HERMOSA BEACH |
|
The most consistent beach break in the Central Pacific and is located just 10km south of Jaco. Deep waters off the coast and exposure to different swells have built up a variety of sand bars. The preferred sand bar to surf is located in front of a large tree known as the “alemendro”. Explore up and down the beach for the perfect waves.

WEST & EAST ESTERILLOS, BEJUCO AND BOCA DAMAS |

Areas with good potential for those willing to go a little out of their way for surf. These beautiful beaches are located 20-30km south of Jaco and are usually empty. There are plenty beach breaks with conditions similar to Hermosa Beach. |
QUEPOS |

A left located at the mouth of the estuary just outside of town and there are several good beach breaks in the area. Quepos is about 45 minutes south of Jaco. Manuel Antonio is just over the hill from Quepos and is home to a beautiful national park and white sand beaches. |

ESPADILLA BEACH |

Located at the end of the road into Manuel Antonio, just before the entrance to the National Park. This beach break can be a lot of fun when the large swells make it into the bay. Most surfers prefer the hefty right at the northern end of the beach. |
EL REY BEACH |
|
Is a beach break sporting many peaks. El Rey Beach is located about 25 minutes south of Quepos on the unpaved road to Dominical.

DOMINICAL BEACH |
|
Is another powerful and consistent beach break similar to Playa Hermosa but with a more remote and tropical landscape. There are some other semi-secret reef breaks and river mouths in the area. Dominical is located about 45 minutes south of Quepos. |
