Costa Rica has a high season (Mid-November through May) and a green season (June through Mid-November). The majority of people vacation in Costa Rica during the high season, but for some visitors, green season is the best time to enjoy Costa Rica.
I live in Costa Rica and I actually prefer green season. The weather is nice, the fishing is good, and the prices for rooms, food, rental cars, golf, fishing and airline tickets are much lower than during high season.
